Hailing from Texas and now making waves in Los Angeles, Adelaide Pilar seamlessly blends her Latina, and Mexican American roots with musical prowess as a professional vocalist and trumpeter.
With a Master's Degree in Afro-Latin Music and a Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies, she embodies diverse musical traditions and transcends them on stage and in recordings.
Her fiery live performances have earned her a spot amongst some of the most dedicated fans and it’s irresistible to rush to the dancefloor as she hits the stage. She is always in high demand by venues as she continues to impress audiences and fellow artists.
RECORDINGS
In 2019, her debut album "Reflexiones De Mi Mente" showcased a unique perspective, merging cumbia, funk, reggae, reggaeton, and hip-hop into a resonating, infectious groove that has become her signature sound.
In 2022, her anticipated album "Free To Be Me" was introduced through periodic single releases like "Cumbia Atómica," "Suavecito Suavecito," and “No Mames Bro”. A number of songs from this album have been released, but not all. There are still plans to release the remaining songs one by one.
Her latest album is a clever, groovy, and inspiring interpretation of old duet classics like “Reunited” by Peaches and Herb, “Islands In The Stream” by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers and others called “Cumbias For Lovers”, which was a collaboration project with Asdru Sierra from Grammy Award-Winning Ozomatli.
WORK WITH OTHER ARTISTS
Beyond solo efforts, Adelaide flourished with the Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas, gained prominence on LA VOZ Mexico 2018, toured with Andy Grammer, and collaborated with multi-Grammy Award-winning Ozomatli.
Adelaide continues to collaborate with Asdru Sierra of Ozomatli on a number of projects. Such as writing and recording with Salvador Santana’s new album in the works, (musical artist and son of legend Carlos Santana), multimedia projects, performing, acting, singing, and recording on an upcoming musical, “Pasaje” which features Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias and powerhouse actor Ignacio Serrichio; which has been picked up and is soon to debut fall of 2024 at the Sierra Madre Performing Arts Center.
SHOW PRODUCTION and CORPORATE WORK
Adelaide has spent many years performing and working in the corporate music scene. She has also been a Latin music icon for the Disneyland Park Resort since 2014 and at Knott’s Berry Farm since 2017. Creating so many shows for such diverse audiences Adelaide naturally fell into show production. She created 2 tribute bands of her own; a Selena Tribute band and A Latin Divas Tribute; a tribute to Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Celia Cruz, and Selena. These shows have been booked extensively throughout the West Coast, Arizona, and Nevada. In 2020 she became the Show's Production Manager for Fever’s Latin Candlelight Series which had her producing Latin tribute shows in cities across the country. These shows consisted of local musicians paying homage to artists such as Juan Gabriel, Jose Jose, and Luis Miguel as well as some special Day of the Dead Shows. After creating a pool of bands and musicians to pull from she began her music consulting company Chido Entertainment, which consults with and provides companies and individuals with live music entertainment. Her specialty being various forms of Latin music.
MUSIC INSTRUCTOR
Adelaide nurtures many artists' talents and takes great interest in music education for grade school and college students. She has taught school band, given college lectures, and worked at a number of music schools. Currently, she teaches privately as a vocal coach, brass and piano teacher.
